It's been a while...

StonecropTulips - painted in the early spring garden when the first tulips showed off their color….

It’s been a busy time since my last update. First I would like to thank any newcomers to my list. I really appreciate your interest and support. If you have any questions please feel free to email me at lauragould@mac.com.

Early this spring I was happy to take part in the 49th Garrison Art Auction. 49 artists were invited to create a painting from the Hudson Valley. So many wonderful artist created beautiful paintings for the auction block. It was an exciting afternoon full of energy, lots of bidding and money raised for the art center. The painting I posted above is the one I created and sold at auction, It was my first auction and it couldn’t have been a better experience. The auction took place in an open tent on the banks of the Hudson River. We had beautiful weather with a light breeze coming off the river. It was very exciting and my painting was among so many that raised money for the Garrison Art Center :)

This summer I am participating in “The Artist Invitational” at Stonecrop Garden in Garrison NY. I am honored to be one of 12 artists invited to paint impressions of the gardens for the three months of summer. There will be an opening reception on September 16th where paintings created by the artists will be on display. It should be a wonderful show. I look forward to seeing the garden through the eyes of so many. The show will be on display through the month of October. Stonecrop is such a beautiful place…a perfect place to take a walk, enjoy the gardens and visit the gallery. For those that want to come to the opening the time of the reception is to be announced.
